From May 7th to 16th, at «Bottini dell’Olio», the competition of contemporary art «Premio Combat» will take place and be organized by the cultural association «Blob Art», with the contribution of Livorno city.
The contest named «Premio Combat 2010» is a clear reference to the american film makers of the 2nd World War.
Its purpose is to support and value the expression of contemporary art in Italy.
As the American cameramen shooted, on the front line, the horrors of the 2nd World War, to testify of the situation, including the most cruel scenes, « Premio Combat » wants to reveal the artistic panorama to show what is going on in Italy.
80 works selected by some critics such as Cecilia Antolini, Francesca Baboni, Stefano Taddei, Alice Bartolini, Alessandro Romanini and Micol Di Veroli, are divided by geographical area and age, Under 50 and Under 25.
During this period, different events will take place, like «Super-Vision», the meeting and debates of many personalites (artists, museum directors, critics, art historians, etc.) who will guide the public on a complete analysis of the art of today, revealing its flaws and contradictions, while sharing, also, thoughts about its possible transformation.
